Some of the modules which are required by the MCA for the Officer Of the Watch CoC are as follows:

GSK (General Ships Knowledge) (5 days)

Nav & Radar (10 days)

ARPA (5 days)

PSCRB (proficiency in survival craft and rescue boats – Restricted) (3 days)

ECDIS (5 days)

EDH (Efficient Deck Hand) (5 days)

HELM (operational) (3 days)

Currently we are able to offer the following modules: GSK, Nav and Radar with ARPA, PSCRB and EDH. Apart from the PSCRB module, which takes place in Hout Bay, the other modules are all conducted at the lecture facilities at SAMTRA (South African Maritime Training Academy) in Simons Town.

On completion of the course, an external exam needs to be written and then submitted to the MCA for marking.

These modules are conducted by lecturers with a vast amount of experience and understanding of the subject matter as well as the examination process. All of this is incredibly useful and essential in giving you the best opportunity to pass any of these modules.
